Christina Blacklaws is a recognised leader in law, governance, and innovation, with more than 30 years of experience spanning the public, private, and charitable sectors.

As former President of the Law Society of England and Wales, she represented over 220,000 solicitors, championed the Women in Leadership in Law initiative, and became a respected voice on justice, technology, and the future of the legal profession.

Christina currently holds several prominent government and public-interest appointments. She serves as Chair of LawTech UK, leading government-backed initiatives to drive innovation across the legal sector. She is also a member of the Professional and Business Services Council, where she chairs the Technology and Innovation Group, and sits on the English Law Promotion Panel.

Her previous public service roles include Chair of the Judicial Pension Board and member of the King’s Counsel Selection Panel.

Alongside her public responsibilities, Christina serves as a Non-Executive Director for leading legal organisations and a high-growth regtech company. She brings extensive board-level expertise, including chairing Audit, Risk, and Nominations Committees.

A passionate advocate for the Rule of Law, access to justice, and diversity and inclusion, she is a former Chair of the Civil Liberties Trust and currently serves on the councils of Justice, the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Human Rights Institute.

Christina is an Honorary Fellow of the Universities of Oxford and Liverpool and chairs the Bristol Law School Advisory Board.
