Isabel Winkels is an expert in family and inheritance law. She is currently Vice-President of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) and Managing Partner of Winkels Abogados, a law firm specializing in international family and inheritance law.

After graduating in 1987, she gained extensive professional experience working in both Spanish and German law firms before founding her own practice in 1995.

She is the founder and former president of the Family and Inheritance Law Section of the Madrid Bar Association. In addition, she teaches Family Law in the Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at the prestigious Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB). She is also a member of the Academic Council of the Escuela de Técnica Jurídica (ETJ), where she organizes and directs family law courses.

A committed legal educator, Isabel Winkels regularly delivers webinars, courses, and lectures on Family Law and continuously updates her expertise in this field.

She is a founding partner and member of the Family and Law Platform (PF&D) and belongs to several national and international legal associations and forums, including AEAFA, AIJUDEFA, and the International Association of Lawyers (UIA).

Isabel Winkels is also a regular contributor to various print, digital, and audiovisual media outlets, where she provides legal analysis and commentary on current legal issues.

In addition, she advised the Spanish Ministry of Justice in 2015 during the legislative process concerning the draft bill on the exercise of parental co-responsibility.
